I recently got trapped at a friend's house with no internet, which totally sucked. But! I had access to iTunes, so I ended up making a John-centric soundtrack. Most of these I see as John talking to or about Bobby. Except number 9, which I saw as John's opinion of Bobby's thoughts/motive (so basically John singing from what he thinks is Bobby's point of view) and number 17, which is a duet. (I always thought of John singing Elphaba's part and Bobby singing Fiyero's, but the reverse could probably work too.)

I had a little too much fun with this, so I might end up doing a Bobby-centric one, too.

Set Them on Fire: A John-centric Fanmix

1.) “Wicked Game” – HIM

No, I don't want to fall in love. (This world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't want to fall in love. (This world is only gonna break your heart)
With you. With you. (This world is only gonna break your heart)

What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way.
What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you.
What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way.
What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you and,

The world was on fire and no one could save me but you.
It's strange what desire will make foolish people do.
I never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you.
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you

2.) “If You Love Somebody, Set Them on Fire” – Dead Milkmen

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
I didn't set your house on fire

But it's just the way I am
Have to take it for a fact
Life can really burn you up
When you're a pyromaniac
So...

If you love somebody
Better set them on fire

3.) "Believe Me Baby (I Lied)" – Trisha Yearwood

When I said it would suit me fine
If you were out of sight and out of mind
That wasn't me talking
That was my wounded pride
When I said I didn't want your love
And you were no one I was thinking of
Believe me baby I lied

4.) “Burn” – Three Days Grace

I'll tell you now you can't win this
'Cause you're way too slow
I'll tell you now I'm gonna take this
Did you come here to watch me
Watch me burn

I'll let it show that
I'm not always hiding
Come all the way down
And watch me burn
I won't let it show that
I'm not always flying
So on the way down
I'll watch you burn

So let me know just how to take this
'Cause you're way too cold
Now show me how before it breaks me
Did you come here to watch me
Watch me burn

5.) “Wake Up” – Three Days Grace

I'm not sober all the time
You bring me down at least you try
Until we see this eye to eye
I don't want you

I must be running out of luck
'Cause you're just not drunk enough to fuck
And now I've had it up to here
I don't I don't want you

Wake up I'm pounding on the door
I'm not the man I was before
Where the hell are you
When I need you
Wake up I'm pounding on the door
I won't hurt you anymore
Where the hell are you
When I need you

6.) “Ever After Happily” – Jay Brannan

The smell of a candle
Freshly blown out
The light of the clock
Shines on my skin
Like a sickly green moonlight
On a pale white day’s decay
I try to wipe you from my memory
But your face won’t fade away

Well, that’s the way the fairy tale goes
Boy meets girl and they wed with roses
But that’s not the way it seems to be
And I’m pissed that they lied to me
Cause boy meets boy and boy runs away
Or girl meets girl and she’s afraid to stay
We end up home alone watching court TV
Not living ever after happily

You’re right
You are prince charming
Onto the next princess when he’s bored with the last
He’s the hero of every story
He’s got his chapter in every girl’s book
He walks away with all the honor and glory
But I wonder what else he took

7.) “Home” – Three Days Grace

I'll be coming home
Just to be alone
'Cause I know you're not there
And I know that you don't care
I can hardly wait
To leave this place

No matter how hard I try
You're never satisfied
This is not a home
I think I'm better off alone
You always disappear
Even when you're here
This is not my home
I think I'm better off alone
Home, home, this house is not a
Home, home, this house is not a home

8.) “With Me” – Sum 41

Through it all, I made my mistakes.
I stumble and fall,
But I mean these words.

I want you to know, with everything I won't let this go.
These words are my heart and soul,
I hold on to this moment you know.
Cause I'd bleed my heart out to show, and I won't let go.

9.) “Let You Down” – Three Days Grace

Trust me
There's no need to fear
Everyone's here
Waiting for you to finally be one of us

Come down
You may be full of fear
But you'll be safe here
When you finally trust me
Finally believe in me

I will let you down
I'll let you down I'll
When you finally trust me
Finally believe in me

10.) “Running Up That Hill” – Placebo

You don't want to hurt me,
But see how deep the bullet lies.
Unaware that I'm tearing you asunder.
There's a thunder in our hearts, baby

So much hate for the ones we love?
Tell me, we both matter, don't we?
You, (If I only could, be running up that hill)
You and me (If I only could, be running up that hill)
You and me, won't be unhappy

Come on, baby, come on, come on, darling,
Let me steal this moment from you now.
Come on angel, come on, come on, darling,
Let's exchange the experience

And if I only could,
Make a deal with God,
And get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
With no problems.

11.) “The One I Love” – REM

This one goes out to the one I love
This one goes out to the one I left behind
A simple prop - to occupy my time
This one goes out to the one I love

Fire
Fire

12.) “Time of Dying” – Three Days Grace

On the ground I lay
Motionless in pain
I can see my life flashing before my eyes
Did I fall asleep
Is this all a dream
Wake me up, I'm living a nightmare

I will not die (I will not die)
I will survive

I will not die, I'll wait here for you
I feel alive, when your beside me
I will not die, I'll wait here for you
In my time of dying

13.) “Lost Cause” – Beck

Your sorry eyes, they cut through bone.
They make it hard to leave you alone.
Leave you here wearing your wounds
Waving your guns at somebody new.

There’s a place where you are going
You ain’t never been before
There’s no one laughing at your back now
No one standing at your door
Is that what you thought love was for?

Baby I’m a lost
Baby I’m a lost
Baby I’m a lost cause
I’m tired of fighting
I’m tired of fighting
Fighting for a lost cause.

14.) “Post Blue” – Placebo

It's in the water baby,
It's in the pills that pick you up,
It's in the water baby,
It's in the special way we fuck,
It's in the water baby,
It's in your family tree,
It's in the water baby,
It's between you and me.

Bite the hand that feeds,
Tap the vein that bleeds
Down on my bended knees

I'd break the back of love for you

15.) “Burning For You” – Blue Oyster Cult

Home in the valley
Home in the city
Home isn't pretty
Ain't no home for me
Home in the darkness
Home on the highway
Home isn't my way
Home will never be

Burn out the day
Burn out the night
I can't see no reason to put up a fight
I'm living for giving the devil his due
And I'm burning, I'm burning, I'm burning for you
I'm burning, I'm burning, I'm burning for you

16.) “Drag” – Placebo

You're always ahead of the rest,
When I'm always on time,
You got A's on your algebra test,
I failed and they kept me behind,
I just gotta get off my chest,
That I think you're divine,
You're always ahead of the rest,
While I drag behind

17.)“As Long As You’re Mine” – Idina Menzel & Leo Norbert Butz

Kiss me too fiercely
Hold me too tight
I need help believing
You're with me tonight
My wildest dreams
Could not foresee
Lying beside you
With you wanting me

Say there's no future
For us as a pair
And though I know I may know
I don't care
Just for this moment
As long as you're mine
Come be how you want to
And see how bright we shine
Borrow the moonlight
Until it is though
And know I'll be here holding you
As long as you're mine

You should totally do a Bobby-centric one. I think that'd be pretty cool. I've never heard of Jay Brannan, but I really liked his song. Thanks for making this. ;)
